Ondru - Voiceless Journeys

Ondru is a Melbourne-based humanitarian organisation working towards a more connected, compassionate and equitable society. Using art to provoke thought, evoke feeling and inspire change on issues of social justice. Voiceless Journeys is one of Ondru’s most accomplished art projects. The murals tell a story of migration from the perspective of the portrayed individuals, through striking black and white photographs and evoking quotes.

The challenge laid on adapting and arranging the imagery as a cohesive standalone piece that would not only suit the allocated spaces, but most importantly weave the stories from one image to the next in a narrative manner, the result was an engaging and alluring public art installation.

The large scale murals, measuring 42 and 46 meters long accordingly, were commissioned to be installed on the premises of Australian Catholic University - Fitzroy campus, on the main square facing Brunswick Street and on the
Victoria Parade entrance.
