Jacqui Stockdale

Award winning Melbourne visual artist Jacqui Stockdale takes us on a journey to a surreal past. Her photographs are rich in history and reimagined legends, encompassed in decadent painted live size backdrops, masquerade and magic. Each finished piece comes together in its own right as well as part of a collection through a careful postproduction process where image editing, stitching and coloration bring every photograph to life. To complete the final image a frame and typography were custom designed in the fashion of antique studio photographic portraits. 
Other work includes calling cards for the artist. 

‘The Boho’ collection comprises of nine images, it was first exhibited as part of the Adelaide Biennale in 2016 at the Art Gallery of South Australia, selected pieces of this collection have been exhibited in various galleries nationally and internationally. The artwork entitled ‘The Migrant’ a part of the ‘Ghost Hoovanah’ collection was shortlisted and exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra in 2018.
